Mental Health First Aid focus of upcoming training session
Mental Health First Aid Canada, a course which teaches first aid skills to help someone who is developing mental health problems or is experiencing a mental health crisis, will be offered to Red Deer College students January 28 and 29.
Limited seats are available – sign up today at the Students’ Association office to ensure your place. Due to demand, a $40 refundable deposit is required upon registration to hold your space.
The course aims to teach people to:
* Identify when a person may be a danger to themselves or to others and take steps to preserve life
* Recognize the early signs of mental health problems and provide help to prevent more serious problems from developing
* Provide comfort to someone with a mental health problem and support them in the recovery of their mental health
* Guide a person towards the appropriate professional help
